Academy

Each year, we bring together some of our current and future leaders from all over Europe to attend our leadership development program. The Academy, as it is known, is facilitaded by our external partner. This group of people lern about and develop their leadership skills, as well as working with an external coach, having mentor from the European leadership team, and developing international networks and friendships. The delegates are split into teams and given the opportunity to practice their skills on a real project. We have seen some fantastic results from these teams, like the creation of our international charity cook book.

Tremco illbruck International Cook Book

Fundraising Method:

The team created a Cook Book and sold it within the organisation to raise money for the "Action Duchenne". The Cook Book is really unique – it is definitely not just another recipe book! First, the team asked everyone in the company, from offices all over the world (Europe, North America, Australia, Middle East) to send their favourite recipes, to write a little bit about themselves, and what makes their recipe special to them. Then, the families living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy were asked to do the same. Not only have the boys given us their favourite recipes, they have also given us some amazing stories about living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The boys have also helped with the design and creation of the book.

About Action Duchenne:

"Action Duchenne” is a wonderful charity working to find a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy – an aggressive form of Muscular Dystrophy that affects 1 in 4,000 young boys around the world. There is currently no cure, and a 100% fatality rate. "Action Duchenne” raises money that is used to fund medical research and organise clinical trials, in the hope that treatments, and ultimately a cure, can be found. Medical research is being carried out around the world, and they are close to making a real breakthrough.
